The end of Day 7 was certainly a milestone for me. I was in work until 5am and did not have my end of shift drink or indeed buy myself any to compliment that one! I am now on day 9 and I'm feeling really positive about this. I feel good, healthy, slimmer, and I think my perspective on things is changing slightly. I still keep getting feelings of relief that I'm not going to be drinking. I'm also considering increasing this month to Easter.
New specs! I have new specs. I promised a certain best galfriend of mine I would be posting pics up yesterday but I was too tired. Today my excuses are that I am a) still too tired b) having to do boring work on a Sunday and therefore a little grumpy and c) wanting to talk about the film I saw last night.
Laura's Half-Arsed Film Review #3
Last night I watched Night Watch. I was suitably excited about it as it is one of those fairly rare films that are supported by horror afficianados and the general film going community as well as maintaining an air of 'cool' about it (probably because it is Russian). It definitely lived up to this, if there was only one way to describe this film it would indeed be fookin' cooool. It presents itself like a 1 hour 45 minutes long rock video of the MTV era, and there are obvious influences from The Matrix and Star Wars. It is also a supernatural take on the religious myth of the apocalypse, so there's a lot going on here. You won't be bored.

I don't recall you every needing spectacles. Have they got flat glass instead of lens? Are you turning into Paulo? I like Nightwatch. We watched a film/documentary the other day called Catfish about a beautiful boy who falls in love with a lass on t'interweb. You watch it too, please - it was very good. And a small budget British film called Brilliantlove - lots and lots of sex (I had to hide behind the pillow for most of it). Good, though. Have you also seen Never Let Me Go? Originally a science fiction book by the same fellow who wrote Remains of the Day, with screenplay by Alex Garland. With Kiera Shite-ly. I wasn't too taken, but would appreciate your feedback. Baz is staying this weekend but I fed her too much alcohol last night and now all she can do is vomit. It's dull. I'm enjoying your blogs and Ange's lots. Love you hard, Will x
ReplyDeleteYey Will!! :) Great to hear from you. Oh dear re: Baz, try giving her some flat coke with some extra sugar in it, always works with me.
ReplyDeleteI used to wear glasses at work for the computer and have to now cos I'm spending so much time on the computer. And the ones I had were crap so I wanted something a bit nicer. I have a stigma apparently.
I like your polite order for me to watch a film! I'll add it to my lovefilm list along with the rest. I am back on lovefilm and their posting is just as shit as I remember. Oh well.
When Paulo moves to Manchester does that mean we will get to see you more?! I hope so. It's lovely and sunny here today, I'm going to go for a walk round Alberts Sq.
Hope Baz recovers soon so you have someone to entertain you. Love you lots and lots xxxxxxxxx
